A sneak peak of my short story

A Short bit from my Book in progress.
It had been a long day, we'd been fighting Yaskki's soldiers all day, the ambushes had been getting greater and more frequent since moving deeper into Havens meadows. (Yeah, sounds nice, doesn't it? but its the most evil place in the whole Land.) We'd set up camp in an opening somewhere in the what seems like an never ending forest. Teatea had all ready got the fire going and found a place to sleep next to the fire, I laid down on the other side of the fire and used my arms as a pillow, I turned and looked at Teatea, who was staring into the sky in a sort of daze, his eyes were shinning through his long sleek brown hair as though the stars where reflecting off them, but even the closest star couldn't make a reflection so bright and beautiful. For the first time I saw how much power he held within that little body of his, as though the power he held was trying to escape through his eyes in a form of light. How come I never saw this before?
His eyes burned so bright, so bright It hurt mine to keep looking at them, but I couldn't look away, it was as though they were drawing me in...so pretty, so amazing.
Teatea soon drifted off into a deep sleep and left me staring aimlessly into the dark night sky above me, the fire had become embers and the only light source was the sky full of stars so clear, so clear it made me realise how small me are on this huge world,I closed my eyes.
Next thing I know there was shouting, I opened my eyes to find a spear pointing right between my eyes.
A deep voice shot through my head..."Yaskki will see you now"
